Help family find the remains of their son

Malo family believes that they missing son is dead.

The Malo family is pleading to be shown where the remains of their missing son, Siyabonga, are buried.

The last time the 30-year-old was seen by his friends was in 2020 when he was forced into a car with four unknown occupants in the Everest informal settlement.

Siyabonga’s father, John, said his son had turned state witness in a murder case that took place in 2019 and went missing weeks before the set trial date.

“He was on his way from church when he witnessed four men assaulting a suspect who allegedly stole a cellphone.

“The suspect later succumbed to his injuries. Siyabonga decided to work with the police and turned state witness as he was the only person who witnessed the murder,” he explained.

The suspects were arrested and sentenced to 15 years of direct imprisonment in 2021 by the Springs Magistrates Court. Siyabonga’s distraught mother, Nobantu, said all she wants is to be shown where her son’s body is buried.

“I have accepted that my son is dead. All I want is to give him a dignified funeral as part of the closure.

“I know we will never know the full details of what happened. I am pleading with my son’s killers or anyone to tell us where they buried him,” she added.

Springs police spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala confirmed that they are investigating a missing person case.

“Investigations are ongoing and we are pleading with anyone with information to contact Sergeant Wellemina Mokoena on 011 365 5700\5705,” he said.
