ECD practitioners and caregivers invited to an awareness programme

Awareness on taking care of the young

The Kwa-Thema and Langaville Early Childhood Development (ECD) association is inviting parents, guardians, ECD practitioners and principals and the community to an ECD awareness programme.

It will be held on November 20 at 10:00 at the Kwa-Thema Community Hall.

The programme is aimed at creating awareness of how to take care of children, which include newborns to six years old.

The association’s chairperson, Ntombi Ndala-Ndimande said, “We want to educate parents and the community on the safety of children, nutrition and information on how to report a missing or an abused child case using proper channels and knowing where exactly to go.

“Parents also need to be informed on the importance of taking a child to an ECD and also the importance of vaccination.”

The association has invited different stakeholders to the programme, including the departments of health, social development and education, SAPS, an educational therapist and EMPD.

“There are things parents and guardians usually ignore when registering a child to an ECD and this programme will assist in informing about such,” Ndala-Ndimande concluded.

For more information, the community can contact Mxolisi Mntakwende at 081 0396 8521.
