Give Back Sunday showers Langaville learners with love

The organisers are now collecting school supplies for learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Tsakani – The Give Back Sunday campaign collected 620 sanitary towels which were donated to Langaville Secondary School on October 18.

The initiative is championed by a resident, Thobile Hlatshwayo, with the support of Eypilini Vlv Lounge.

According to Hlatshwayo, the campaign is ongoing and through it, they will be tackling various social issues to empower their community.

“For the next campaign, we will be collecting school supplies but the focus is on book covers and name stickers.

“This will help school learners with unemployed parents, learners who are residing with grandparents and child-headed households.

“We plan to work with local schools to identify these learners. Next year we are going to embark on a back-to-school campaign, covering books for them,” she explained.

Give Back Sunday is held every last Sunday of the month at Eypilini Vlv Lounge.

Two or more school covers grant access to the general area at the venue, while five school covers grant access to the VIP area.

The next event will be on October 30. To contribute to the campaign or for enquiries she is reachable at 079 770 6174.
