Tsakani – Resident Thobile Hlatshwayo has partnered with a local business for a sanitary towel drive campaign called Give Back Sunday.
Their goal is to collect 1 000 packs and have them donated at Langaville Secondary School on October 14.
Two packs of pads grant access to the general area at the venue while five grant access to the VIP access.
They held the first event on August 28 at Eypilini Vlv Lounge and during the second event on Sunday they collected a total of 550 sanitary towels.

“We wanted to give back to the community that has nurtured, uplifted and supported us for many years. And we thought what better way to give back is by uplifting the young girls in our community.
“So many girls are still faced with the challenges of access to sanitary towels. Our aim is to ensure no girl child is stressed because of pads,” she said.
She added that going forward they would like to expand their initiative to the community at large.
She has requested the community to contribute to the programme by contacting her on 079 770 6174 or 078 199 9378.
