Model ready to tackle social ills

She said winning the pageant would be a dream come true for her.

Tsakani – Twenty-year-old model Chimwemwe Chibisa has aspirations to bring positive change in her community.
She is currently running for the Miss Glam South Africa 2022 title and needs the help of the community to make her dream become a reality.

Local model Chimwemwe Chibisa (20) needs votes to bring title home.

The semi-finalist is collecting sanitary towels, which she plans to distribute to local high schools. She encourages the public to contribute to the programme.
The beauty pageant focuses on entrepreneurship for women.
“We all thrive for the crown but our way to the crown won’t be the same. Stay true to yourself and don’t compare yourself to anyone.
“The pageant challenges me to become a better version of myself. It’s challenging, but I love it and find that I work best under pressure,” she said.

She said winning the title would help her address some of the challenges faced by the community, such as teenage pregnancy and drug abuse.
“I urge young people to engage in positive and developmental activities and should refrain from negative stuff.
“It will also make me happy to bring back the confidence of young girls who need sanitary towels.
“I want to be a voice for the voiceless,” she added.
