Young people offered scholarships to further their studies

Peermont Education Trust (PET) awards 24 young people with scholarships.

Kwatsaduza – Twenty-four young people received scholarships from the Peermont Foundation during a two-day workshop held at Emperors Palace.
The students received all-expenses paid scholarships valued at over R170 000 each to further their tertiary educations in diverse fields at various universities across the country.
The scholarships were funded by the Southern Highveld Community Development Trust (SHCDT), a CSI initiative of Graceland Hotel Casino and Country Club, the Peermont Education Trust (PET), a CSI programme of Emperors Palace and five students pursuing their Hospitality Management degrees under the direction of the Peermont Community Benefit Trust (PCBT).

The beneficiaries are from Springs, Tsakani, Vosloorus, Katlehong, Tembisa, Daveyton and Kwa-Thema.
These include Lindokuhle Sithole (BSc Actuarial Sciences at Wits), Khomotso Mothobeki (Nursing at UJ), Naomi Monareng (BEng Chemical Engineering at UP), Sandile Nkosi (BSc Mechanical Engineering at Wits), Thato Makena (BSc in Computer Science at Wits), Appiah Mosebe (BSc Actuarial Sciences at Wits), Mandla Phansi (BSc Civil Engineering at UJ), Boikgantsho Lebogo (Bcom Accounting at UJ) and Mbali Senzani (BSc Biological Science at UP).
During the workshop the students were addressed on mental health and participated in emotional health sessions to assist them in dealing with anxiety and identifying the triggers that cause mental health problems and more importantly how to seek professional assistance.
They also received tips on enhancing employ-ability skills, managing a proper social media profile and coaching on various topics.
