Masimong Foundation donates school shoes to underprivileged learners

Masimong Foundation donated school shoes and jerseys to underprivileged learners.

Kwa-Thema – Underprivileged learners from three primary schools in Mpumalanga and Gauteng received shoe donations from Masimong Foundation last Thursday.

Masimong Foundation founder Sandi Teke addressed the young beneficiaries.

The schools include Sakhelwe Primary School, Tsimong Primary School and Gorogang Primary School.
Foundation founder Sandi Teke explained that the school shoes drive started in 2008 and has been an annual initiative at different schools in Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

“This initiative forms part of reaching out to and empowering the community.
“During our visit to various schools, we identified the need in helping learners from underprivileged backgrounds by donating school shoes and uniforms,” she added.
Teka added that unemployment has left many parents unable to afford to provide for their children’s school needs.
“It is even more painful because some of these affected learners are forced to walk long distances to school with torn shoes or sometimes barefoot.
“Our goal is to make a difference in a child’s life by sponsoring a pair of school shoes to make their school journey not only bearable but also confident,” she added.
