Scammers use ANC chief whip’s name to scam residents

The ANC caucus whip in Ekurhuleni is warning residents to be aware of individuals who are scamming people by pretending to be him.

Kwatsaduza – The ANC caucus whip in Ekurhuleni Jongizizwe Dlabathi is warning residents to be aware of individuals scamming people by pretending to be him and pretending to work for the city’s procurement office.
Dlabathi was alerted after these individuals made phone calls and solicited money for fictitious contracts using his name.
He described the perpetrators as ‘pure scammers’ and criminals who must be exposed.

“This is nothing but an attempt to tarnish my credibility and create some sort of destruction from carrying my responsibilities.
“I remain steadfast and committed to clean and accountable governance and in serving the community of Ekurhuleni with honesty and integrity,” he explained.
Dlabathi added the matter will be reported to law enforcement.
