Two die in bus and taxi collision

Witnesses are urged to come forward.

Tsakani – Two people died when a taxi and bus collided head-on along Black Road in Tsakani on Monday morning.
The bus was transporting school children.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu explained the accident claimed the life of a woman estimated to be 30 years old and a 51-year-old man who were passengers in the taxi.

“The other seven passengers from the taxi were rushed to the hospital, together with five passengers from the bus which included a three-year-old who sustained minor injuries.”
The spokesperson urged witnesses of the accident to come forward to finalise the culpable homicide case.
Anyone who was a passenger in the Quantum taxi that was involved in the accident may contact Tsakani SAPS on 011 363 5300 or call Warrant Officer Vusi Fakude on 071 340 5076.
“The investigation is still underway,” she added.
