KUSO celebrated Mandela Day with 300 residents

KUSO donated blankets and food parcels to underprivileged residents.

Kwa-Thema – Kutlwano Social Organisation (KUSO) donated food parcels and blankets to 300 beneficiaries at Kwa-Thema Community Hall on Sunday.
This was part of the organisation’s annual 67 Minutes for Mandela Day campaign to honour the late state president, Nelson Mandela for his contribution to the fight for human rights for all humanity and the liberation of South Africa in particular.

Residents received donations from KUSO as part of Mandela Day.

On this day, people are urged to participate in projects and programmes that advance the development and welfare of communities, in particular, the less privileged and the poor.
The recipients comprised the elderly, child-headed families and poor families from Kwatsaduza.
Pule Malefane from the organisation explained that they targeted members from the Kwa-Thema Society for the Care of the Aged, Tutela Family Care, Nokuphila Community Services, Kopano Disability Movement and Okwethu Disability Project.

Chairperson of KUSO, Dali Mofokeng, explained that they are happy with the response they received from corporate and the community at large to make this day possible.
“This day is significant in that it gives the less privileged the opportunity to be pampered in the form of gifts and motivational words.
“We are calling on corporate companies to come on board and other men from the community to join the organisation,” he added

Elderly members of Kwatsaduza received donations from Kutlwano Social Organisation.

Neil Reddy from Alfeco, a Johannesburg-based company during his hand-over of dignified food parcels and double mink blankets to KUSO, committed to partner with KUSO to feed 161 school-going children with two meals per day.
The event was also supported by bikers from a group called Desperados and the Springs Taxi Association as KUSO partners.
