Tsakani – A 46-year-old man was arrested on Friday for possession of suspected stolen property.
EMPD members were conducting a vehicle control point along the R23 when they stopped a truck loaded with numerous bags.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu said upon searching the truck they discovered copper, brass and aluminium inside one of the bags.

“The driver couldn’t account or explain why he was in possession of such property.
“He was charged with tampering, damaging and destroying essential infrastructure,” she explained.
He will appear before the Tsakani Magistrate’s Court soon.
