Local disability club plays to a draw in league games

Kwa-Thema Disability Club is sitting in the second position in the Gauteng Association for the physically Disabled Cerebral Palsy League.

Kwa-Thema – Kwa-Thema Disability Club’s soccer team played to a two-all draw against Leadchange Development at Muriel Brand School in Brakpan last Saturday.

This was their first game in the Gauteng Association for the Physically Disabled Cerebral Palsy League.
Katlego Sera and Jason Smith scored the two goals and Smith missed a penalty that could have seen the team winning the game.
The team currently occupies the second position on the log with one point in the bag.
Team coach Aubrey Mathibela said he is proud of the team so far.

“I thought they would start at a slow pace as this is their first game in the league but they showed they deserve to be playing in the league.
“We are working to improve our defence and hoping to collect more points in our next matches,” he added.
The team will face Adelaide Tambo School for the Physically Challenged next month.
Mathibela is urging parents with children from the age of 10 who are interested in participating in sports to enrol them.
“We want to see every child in the community participating and excelling in sports,” he added.
The team practices weekdays from 13:00 to 17:00 at Kwa-Thema Stadium.
