Sergeant gunned down by occupants of a white Honda Ballade.

Duduza – Duduza police officer Sgt Robert Tebogo Malete was shot and killed on Wednesday morning outside his home in Bluegum View.
It is alleged while he was offloading some of his belongings from the car, a white Honda Ballade drove past and the occupants started shooting at him.

“After the sergeant was shot and face down, he succumbed to his injuries.
“One of the suspects alighted from the vehicle and removed Malete’s service pistol and drove off from the scene,” she explained.
Muridili added about seven cartridges were found at the scene.
“The assailants and the motive are unknown. Only the firearm was taken,” she added.
Police are investigating a case of murder and a 72-hour activation plan, which entails the mobilisation of various disciplines of the SAPS, including crime intelligence, forensic experts, detectives, specialised tactical units and the Hawks, in a bid to apprehend a group of suspects who were behind the attack on the officer.
