Local team triumph at pre-season tournament

Tsakani – The Hour Stars Football Club came out victorious recently at the pre-season’s top eight league tournament that took place at Vosloorus Stadium.
The team is in fifth position in the SAFA Ekurhuleni u-15 junior’s Regional League.
The team’s manager, Karabo Senanya, said winning the league would be a great milestone for the team.
“It would be a great achievement because it means moving from one structure to the next, which is important for the growth of the club, especially the players.
“It would also be a nice new challenge,” explained Senanya.

The club’s chairperson, Siphiwe Tase, expressed how winning the tournament is a huge boost for them.
“I am happy with how the team performed, which goes to show that we are capable.
“What’s left now is for us to prepare for the league,” he said.
As they prep for the new season, which is set to commence on April 9, they are appealing for donations.
Some of their challenges include lack of soccer balls, transportation and food.
Tase said playing in the league costs a lot of money.
“We need help to be able to cover some of these expenses.
“When you are playing in the league, you constantly have to travel, and that is costly.
“Also, not all of our players can afford the transport fee.”
