Meet Duduza SAPS new station commander

She replaces Lt-Col Bheki Mhlungu who went on pension in November.

Duduza – Duduza has a new sheriff who is ready to fight crime and protect vulnerable residents.
Lt-Col Mmaserame Sarah Mofokeng was appointed the new station commander on March 1.
She replaces Lt-Col Bheki Mhlungu, who went on pension in November.
Mofokeng started her police career in 1995 and has over the years moved from one police station to others as part of her career growth.
After completing her in-service training at Germiston Police Station, she was posted at Duduza Police Station.
In 2005, she moved to Devon and was promoted to the position of warrant officer.
The following year she moved to Springs Police Station, where she was stationed until 2009.
She was then transferred to Nigel Police Station and received a promotion to captain.

In 2010, she was deployed to Sudan in a peacekeeping operation at the request of the Commission of the African Union (AU).
Mofokeng was promoted to the position of a lieutenant and moved to Germiston Police Station in 2014 until she was moved to Duduza Police Station to fill the position of station commander.
The new station commander holds a diploma and degree in policing.
She said she is passionate about the fight against crime, especially gender-based violence.
“I want to create a safe environment for every resident, both South Africans and foreign nationals, living in Duduza, especially the endangered group that includes elderly, children and women.
“I also intend on bringing stability and building morale at the police station for all the employees,” she added.
