Duduza resident eyes Miss Bachelorette SA crown
Moretsele said the pageant is anti-body shaming and women of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to enter.
Duduza – Duduza-born Miss Bachelorette SA contestant Mamosa Moretsele has made it to the top 50 of the pageant.
The 32-year-old hopes to make it to the final stages of the competition.
Mamosa did not have plans of pursuing a modelling career until she came across an advertisement about a modelling competition while she was at work.
The aspiring model said she was browsing the internet when she came across Miss Bachelorette SA (2022) and decided to try her luck by signing up.

To her surprise, she made it to the top 50.
“The pageant is about young, beautiful, intelligent and independent women in South Africa, who are holding the fort of motherhood,” she said.
She said these women had to take care of themselves and their families without any help nor struggles.
According to Mamosa, the competition builds women in leadership and women who value and empower other women.
“I believe it represents everything I stand for and believe in. It is different as it does not have any requirements of women having to be a specific race or colour,” she said.
She added that the pageant is anti-body shaming and women of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to enter; therefore, any woman can enter.

“It needs your efforts and intelligence more than the looks and that is definitely who I am,” added Mamosa.

Mamosa said the Department of Arts and Culture does not support such platforms and they need assistance to keep it going.
