Eskom acknowledges continuing power interruptions

It said the interruptions are a result of multiple network faults.

Eskom said it continues to attend to the supply interruptions affecting customers across Gauteng.
It said the interruptions are a result of multiple network faults.
“The delay in attending to the reported network faults was exacerbated by the fact that some of our technicians had embarked on a go-slow, further extending our turnaround time to restore supply.
“The technicians that had been working and were not part of the go-slow have been attending to the network faults and restoring supply.
“We can confirm that Eskom management met with the trade unions and the labour matters were resolved with the agreement that technicians will resume with operations.

“We are working on restoring supply to the areas that are still affected but due to the backlog the turn-around time is longer than normal.
“We would like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience this has caused and appeal for patience as we work on restoring supply to all affected customers.
“We can assure you that our priority is to ensure that supply is restored as speedily as possible with the focus on the customers that have been without supply for a prolonged period, ” said Daphne Mokwena, Customer Services senior manager in the Eskom Gauteng Cluster.
