Water supply affected in Ekurhuleni
Water tankers will be dispatched to areas with no water.
Tsakani – Tsakani is one of the 11 areas affected by the shortage of water due to damage to the Eskom Snowden Substation, which has resulted in a power outage.
Rand Water has announced that the power outage is impacting water supply in some areas of the City of Ekurhuleni and other neighbouring municipalities.
In a statement released by the City, Rand Water has lost about 60% of its production capacity at the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Works.
This is affecting four major systems, which include Eikenhof, Mapleton, Zwartkoppies and Palmiet.

The following areas of Ekurhuleni are affected and will experience low water pressure to no water:
• Tsakani
• Langaville
• Withok Estates
• Geluksdal
• Labore
• Benoni Agricultural Holdings
• Daveyton
• Mayfield
• Etwatwa
• Benoni Small Farms
• Fairleads
Water tankers will be dispatched to these areas.
