School comes to aid of family in need

The school collaborated with other community stakeholders to lend a helping hand to the family.

Tsakani – A family received much-needed help from Michael Zulu Primary School.
This was after the family was left destitute, with the clothes on their backs, following their shack going up in flames.
Following the incident, the mother, whose child is a learner at the school, informed the school about the incident.
This resulted in the school collaborating with other community stakeholders to lend a helping hand to the family.

“We had to collect money and donations from colleagues and outside to assist them in rebuilding their shack. Everything they had previously owned was lost in the fire.
“We also organised people from the school to help with the rebuilding of the shack,” said the school’s deputy principal, Lifa Twala.

The family received help from the school and a NPO.

One of the organisations they collaborated with is Kutlwano Social Organisation, who donated a brand new bed and wardrobe to the family.
