Funeral home donates sanitary towels

Mokgotho gave lessons on personal hygiene and menstrual cycles.

Tsakani – Tshipi Noto Funeral Home donated 720 sanitary pads to girls at Buhlebemfundo Secondary School on Monday.
The sanitary towels were donated to girls of all grades and were done in celebration of Women’s Month.
The handover was graced by the 25-year old Matshidiso Mokgotho, who is the reigning Miss Boksburg and a registered nurse.

Miss Boksburg and professional nurse Mathsidiso Mokgotho (25) spoke to the female learners about menstruation and hygiene.

Mokgotho gave lessons on personal hygiene and menstrual cycles.
She also touched on issues such as gender-based violence and teenage pregnancy.
Speaking on behalf of Tshipi-Noto, marketing officer Molapo Radebe, said that the company wants to give back to the community without stopping.

“We are going to come up with strategies to help us to continue with charity work. We are not going to adopt any school, but we are going to help all schools in our community.
“We’ve also partnered with different NPO’s who we will be working with us.”
He said Tshipi-Noto believes in empowerment and that with donations, you cannot do it once and say “I have done enough.”

Hlatswayo Siphesihle, Chimwemwe Chibisa, Karabo Mathebula, Nomonde Buthelezi, Thandiwe Mhlanga and Njabulo Mathibela were happy their school were selected for the donations. They were inspired by Miss Boksburg Matshidiso Mokgotho, who is also a professional nurse.

The school’s principal, Clement Sathekge, thanked Tshipi-Noto for considering their school for donations.
He said the donations will be very helpful to the girls.
He thanked Mokgotho for the motivation she gave in letting the girls know that their health is important.
