Deceased: Mapule Ellen Rantsane Lekgari (62), who was born on December 23, 1958, died at Netcare Lakeview Hospital in Benoni on Monday.
Education: She attended Canon Rakale Primary School and Tlakula High School.
Lekgari went on to complete her matric at Qwa Qwa University.
She then started her nursing course at Anne Latsky Nursing College where she obtained a diploma in Auxiliary Nursing.
Career: Lekgari started as a staff nurse at the then Pollark Hospital in 1982 which was later changed to Pholosong Hospital.
In 2011 she furthered her studies at Anne Latsky Nursing College.
Lekgari was then promoted to be the head of the Tuberculosis Ward where she worked until her retirement in 2018.
Community: Her passion and love for nursing gained her respect and love from her patience within the community and at the hospital.
Family: She is survived by her sister, two brothers, a son and a daughter, and grandchildren.
Funeral: The service was held at the Presbyterian Church along Rapodile Street in Kwa-Thema on Saturday.
