Attempted murder accused Zweli Ngwenya shot dead
He was declared dead by paramedics on scene.
Kwa-Thema – Suspended Ward 79 councillor Zwelibanzi Ngwenya was fatally shot on Sunday evening outside his home in Mokone Street, White City.
He was declared dead by paramedics on scene.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu said a witness who was with the deceased explained they were approached by a man who started firing at the victim.

“The witness also alleged she ran for safety and didn’t see the direction in which the suspect ran.
“The motive for the killing is unknown. No one has been arrested yet,” she explained.
Ngwenya was on trial for attempted murder for allegedly shooting Mxolisi Dludlu in the eye, causing permanent damage.
The incident took place on December 24, 2019.
