Joe Nina donates blankets to needy children

Over 100 learners benefited from the initiative.

Kwa-Thema – Multi-talented musician Joe Nina donated blankets to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds at Theo Thwala Primary School last Friday.

He also enjoyed soup with the learners. Over 100 learners benefited from the initiative.
Born Makhosini Xaba, the musician explained he was heartbroken after a telephonic conversation with the school principal about the challenges some of the learners are facing.

“Due to Covid-19, many households are now child-headed and many go to bed on an empty stomach.
“They depend largely on the school nutritional programme, which would mean they don’t have any supper or meals over the weekend,” he said.
The visit was set to help the team identify the number of beneficiaries who will receive school uniforms and shoes at a later date.
