Tsakani – Police are investigating a case of murder after a would-be hijacker was killed during an attempted hijacking.
It is alleged the intended victim, Edward Ndlovu of Extension Three, Kwa-Thema, was recently approached by five armed men while driving along Vlakfontein Road in Ext Five.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu said the group intended to hijack him.

“They assaulted him. Residents saw what was happening and rushed to help him.
“They attacked one of the suspects on scene, subsequently killing him. His accomplices fled the scene,” she explained.
A pistol with an empty magazine was found next to the body.
The other four suspects are still at large. Police are urging anyone with information about their whereabouts to come forward.
