Family in need of assistance

Kwa-Thema – The Rasimeni family is struggling to rebuild its home two years after a fire gutted its house.

The family of three has been living with relatives since the blaze in 2019. House owner Sthembile Rasimeni (57) said the fire caused extensive damage to their property, which resulted in them losing everything.

He said two family members were present at the residence when the incident occurred but managed to escape.

It is alleged that the cause of the fire was due to faulty wiring caused by contractors who were on site. The family is pleading with the public to lend a helping hand.

“We have started with rebuilding, however, the process has been so slow. I believe if the community could help, it would make things better.

“It’s been two years of not having a stable home or a place to call home since it was claimed by the fire,” said Sthembile.

They need building materials and essentials. An RCS card has been opened to assist the family.
