Suspected hijacker arrested

Tsakani – A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hijacking that took place in Tsakani and possession of stolen property on Saturday.
The suspect was arrested in Crystal Park after a tip-off to the Crystal Park SAPS by the community who witnessed the hijacked bakkie Toyota Hilux disassembled.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu said the hijacking took place on Friday evening when the victim was about to drive into his home.

“The complainant alleged he opened his gate on Dlephu Street, Langaville, while his bakkie was still idling.
“He was then approached by three armed men who instructed him to get inside the bakkie while one of the suspects took control of the car.
“They drove off with him and was dropped in Kwa-Thema,” she said.
