“I started the organisation after I noted how so many people stay in abusive situations because they feel like they have nowhere to go.
“We aim to support the needy and vulnerable in our community.
“I wanted to create an environment in which they would feel safe, loved and protected,” she said.
Ramotso added that it is important for people to continue to raise awareness of gender-based violence as it helps affected individuals find the courage to speak out and ask for help.
The NPO also donates toiletries to underprivileged children in the area and hosts charity drives to give back to the community.

NPO treasurer Thabang Ratshehe said there’s a need for people to support one another.
“People are going through a lot and Covid-19 has made things worse.
“There is a lack of employment, children are being neglected and there is a high increase of substance abuse in our community.
“We need to create our own support structure so we can be there for each other,” said Ratshehe.
