Fire outbreak claims pensioner’s home

The pensioner is left to pick up the pieces following a fire on Saturday evening.

Tsakani – Sixty-seven-year old Sello Jacob Mokgethi is pleading with the community to lend a helping hand after a fire left him with nothing.
The pensioner is left to pick up the pieces following a fire on Saturday evening.
The fire started in the dining room before spreading to other parts of the four-roomed house.
It is understood he fell asleep leaving a candle burning.
Neighbours assisted in putting out the fire, but by then it was too late.

“My neighbour’s daughter is the one who saved me.
“She broke one of the doors when she noticed the fire and dragged me out of the burning house.
“I have suffered a great loss,” explained Mokgethi.
He is asking for assistance from the community, as he is residing with a family member.

“Any kind of help would be welcome right now.
“However, I would like to see my house rebuilt.
“If people can help with building material, clothes, furniture, blankets and food I would be grateful,” he said.
