Food parcels given to residents

The organisation distributed 50 food donation hampers.

Duduza – The Sonqoba Simunye Men’s Burial Club celebrated International Workers’ Day by distributing hampers to families in and around Duduza.
The organisation distributed 50 food donation hampers.
Chairperson Andy Mpye said access to nutritional food is a right.
“It is a basic human right for people to have access to healthy food.
“Therefore, no one should go to bed hungry.
“There’s something fulfilling when someone goes out of their way to make a difference in the community,” he said.

Locals receive food donations

He explained how unemployment has affected locals.
“The reason behind making this donation, especially on this day, is mainly because we understand the amount of pressure people are facing with the high unemployment rate, and the pandemic hasn’t made things easier.
“People are struggling to make ends meet. On the other hand, the social relief grant has also come to an end.
“We wanted to show our support through the donation,” he explained.
