Lovers’ spat ends in murder

The girlfriend was taken into custody and is facing charges of murder, malicious damage to property and possession of a dangerous weapon.

An argument between a couple in Geduld took a deadly turn when one of the combatants ended up dead.
Springs police spokesperson Amanda Greybe said the police were called to a block of flats in Fifth Avenue last Monday evening by a man who claimed a woman had just stabbed her boyfriend to death.
When the police went into the flat where the alleged murder took place, they found a man lying on the floor, covered in blood.

A witness told the police she was visiting her friend, who is the victim’s girlfriend, and was in the bedroom when an argument broke out between the couple.
The boyfriend was in the bathroom during the argument and the next thing the witness heard was the sound of a door being kicked open.
The argument escalated and then she heard the boyfriend screaming for help, and knew something was wrong.
She exited the bedroom and saw the boyfriend holding his chest, bleeding.
The witness told the police when the boyfriend approached the staircase, the girlfriend pushed him down the stairs.

Police found the girlfriend, who is the murder suspect, sitting outside on the grass, crying hysterically.
The girlfriend was taken into custody and is facing charges of murder, malicious damage to property and possession of a dangerous weapon.
A knife with blood on it found on top of a cupboard in the bathroom was taken as evidence and is suspected to be the murder weapon.
The victim was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
