Stakeholders reach out to addicts

“We want them to know they are still part of the community and that our doors are open to helping them.”

Tsakani – Tsakani SAPS and other stakeholders participated in a GBV and substance abuse awareness campaign on Friday.
The team conducted the campaign in identified substance abuse hot spots.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu said police, along with members of the community, are concerned about the number of young people addicted to drugs.

“We decided to take the campaign to where addicts hang out and reach out to them to offer our services and help them clean up their act. We want them to know they are still part of the community and that our doors are open to helping them.
“We also wanted to educate men about the long-term effects of GBV, especially on young women,” she added.
