Kgosigadi Book Club celebrates local authors

“To observe these important dates we will be honouring books, amplifying stories and celebrating local authors.”

Kwatsaduza – Throughout the centuries – whether it was around a bonfire, under the village tree or a family gathered around the lounge to share tales – stories have proven to hold the power that brings people together.
In Kwatsaduza, a group of readers came together to form Kgosigadi Book Club two years ago.
Co-curator of the club Dee Miloa said through the club they have been able to read books that connected them to different people and stories that mirror their lives.

“We have used the power of books to create social bonds, a safe and affirming space to share our experiences.
“Reading books has helped us cultivate kindness and empathy and made it easy to be vulnerable and have conversations we would not otherwise be comfortable with.
“Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we had to suspend our monthly book discussions, but this doesn’t mean growing the culture of reading stops.
