Local school principal with a big heart

Clement Matebeta Sathekge is an educational advisor for popular educational soapie Skeem Saam on SABC TV channel, an actor and studying towards his law degree.

Tsakani – Clement Matebeta Sathekge has his heart set on empowering his communities through education and charity work.
The 50-year-old was appointed principal of Buhlebemfundo Secondary School in November 2019.
He is an educational advisor for popular educational soapie Skeem Saam on SABC TV, an actor and is studying towards his law degree.
Sathekge started his charity initiative in 2019 in his hometown in Limpopo.

“I grew up in a village where we didn’t have much.
“I believe that’s where my passion for giving stems from.
“We can’t always wait for the government for change,” explained Sathekge.
To date, two primary schools in his hometown have benefited from his charity initiative.
“I have been able to donate school uniforms and shoes, computers and establish a library in my hometown.
“These events were a success due to the help from my family, friends and wife.
“In 2019, as part of Mandela Day, I donated blankets to cancer patients in partnership with Capricorn FM,” he said.

Unfortunately, some of his projects were paused due to the pandemic.
Sathekge has plans to introduce his charity drive to the community of Tsakani and is looking to help new mothers and learners.
“My goal is to lead by example to my community, learners and children.
“I believe education has the power to unlock so many doors,” he said.
His dream is to have a NPO that will work to uplift the community and become a legal advisor for the Department of Education.
