Duduza alleged rape suspect nabbed

Duduza – Duduza police arrested an alleged rape suspect who has been sought for a long time.
The 26-year old was arrested last Friday in the John Dube area.
The arrest comes after Duduza SAPS sector policing members Const Gontse Moeketsane and Const Sibongile Moeketsi responded to a complaint of abduction in John Dube.

On arrival, police discovered the suspect had taken a 16-year-old girl by force in front of her friends after he threatened to shoot anyone who tried to stop him.
He took the girl to a house in John Dube, where he raped her.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said police investigations led them to the house, where the girl was found in the bedroom with the suspect; he was arrested immediately.

“On further investigation, it was learnt he had assaulted and raped another girl earlier in the day. Many other girls had reported to have been raped by the suspect.
“We are hoping to link him to other rape cases reported in Duduza and are urging other victims who may have been sexually violated to come forward and report those cases so they can be investigated thoroughly.
“The suspect will appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon,” he added
