“The group was established in November 2020.

“The inspiration was based on the success of a dance competition which I hosted last year.

“It was such a huge success and seeing all these talented dancers take part, that’s when I decided to start my own group,” said Nkosi.

Former professional dancer Sthembiso Khumalo, who is the marketing manager for the team, said giving back to the community is important.

“I aim to take the team far. With their determination and hard work I believe we can achieve bigger things.

“I felt it was important for me to share the knowledge, wisdom and experience with the younger generation so they can also be able to pay it forward.

“We encourage all dancers or people who have an interest in dancing to join us.”

Resident Sihle Setanang additionally added that allowing her daughter to participate in the group was the best decision for her.

“My child loves to dance and has the talent for it.

“It keeps her busy and away from the streets. Children go missing, so her being part of the dancer group gives me a sense of peace.

“It also protects her from substance abuse out there and keeps her grounded,” she said.
