Local author releases new book

“You can have big dreams but if you don’t have faith, courage or believe in yourself you will not make it."

Duduza – “The book talks to people who have big dreams but little resources.”
These are the words of author Tebogo Matjie (31) following the release of his second book, Dreams Worth Dreaming.
“You can have big dreams but if you don’t have faith, courage or believe in yourself you will not make it.
“This includes understanding the process as well as prayer and its purpose.
“I reside in the township where the system is the same, the houses are the same, where a person gets laughed at for dreaming beyond what meets the eye,” explained Matjie.

His first book, The Journey Goes On, was inspired by his upbringing and challenges and triumphs in his own life.
He wrote the book using his cellphone, which led to him being named as a young up-and-coming writer to look out for by Kaya FM.
Matjie also embarked on a motivational tour with the City of Ekurhuleni.
“There are neither authors nor motivational speakers that inspire children from the township.
“One needs to look outside their borders and this book’s purpose is to help dreamers chase their dreams.
“The book features a poem of popular South African DJ Julian Gomes titled Dream. The poem was featured on his album Late Night Dreamer.”
The 130-page book is available in soft and hard copies.

“I know the book will inspire a lot of young people who come from impoverished backgrounds to believe in their dreams.
“We live in a world today where the government and people invest in people who are problem-solvers.
“The book will be accompanied by a documentary I shot this year titled Greatness within you, which showcases the issues young people are faced with and the work I have been doing in inspiring the world.”
