Metro healthcare officials receive PPE
He thanked the donors for contributing to the protection of frontline workers.
City of Ekurhuleni healthcare officials received over 2 500 litres of sanitiser, 2 500 medical-grade masks and other essentials on Friday to boost the fight against the pandemic.
The ceremonies to mark the distribution of the PPE, led by Ekurhuleni mayor Mzwandile Masina were held at Wannenburg Primary Healthcare Clinic in Primrose, the Thembisa Healthcare Care Centre and the Daveyton East Clinic.

Receiving the PPE consignment from Masina, head nursing sister at Wannenburg Primary Healthcare Clinic Helen Chukudu thanked the mayor for leading the fight against the pandemic, and the donors of the PPE for aiding in the battle against Covid-19.
“These items will have a very positive impact on us as frontline workers. This gesture on its own will motivate myself and colleagues to worker harder, knowing we are not alone in the fight against the pandemic,” she said.

The donation included 5 000 tongue depressors.
Masina expressed his gratitude to the City’s healthcare workers who continuously serve the residents of Ekurhuleni with pride and dedication.
