Local sportsmen head to Tunisia

“This shows we are doing something good and we also deserve the world’s recognition."

Kwa-Thema – Four Kwa-Thema sportsmen will be heading to Tunisia next month to participate in the World Para Athletics Grand Prix series.
The tournament was set to take place in Paris last year but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
During the competition, athletes will be competing according to their functional classification in each event.
Neo Ndlovu will be participating in the 100m, 200m and 400m while Dimakatso Letageng will be competing in javelin, shotput and 100m.

Isaac Mbenenge is said to fight for glory in the 100m, 200m, 400m and long jump, while Harris Ngomane, who is visually impaired, will be participating in shotput and javelin.
Team coach Aubrey Mathibela is proud of his athletes for qualifying to participate in the tournament on the international stage.
“This shows we are doing something good and we also deserve the world’s recognition.
“We are practising and working hard to improve our skills before the games,” he said.
