Security personnel from Springs Mall called Springs police for backup on Tuesday afternoon to assist in the pursue of a suspicious-looking vehicle with three occupants.
According to Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu, communications officer at the Tsakani Police Station, the vehicle was finally stopped at the corner of Ninth Avenue and South West Road.

“When cornered, one suspect got out of the vehicle and fled the scene, while two suspects were found with loaded unlicensed firearms.
“Ammunition, four cellphones and different bank cards were also found in their possession.
“The vehicle, a white Polo Classic 1.6, was later discovered to have been stolen in Moffetview in December.”
