Resident shot and killed during hijacking

Duduza – A 64-year-old man was shot and killed during a hijacking in Duduza, Zulu section, on Monday evening
It is alleged the victim had arrived home when two armed men pounced on him while he was opening his garage door.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said they threatened him at gunpoint and a struggle ensued.

“The owner was shot twice, once in the upper body and in his right hand.
“They then drove away with his vehicle, a Chevrolet Aveo, which was later recovered by Tracker on the soccer field in Tsakani Extension 12B,” he explained.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have credible information that could lead to the arrest of the criminals to contact the Duduza SAPS on 071 675 7027 or Crime Stop on 0800 10111.
