Food packages for the disabled and pensioners

Kwa-Thema – Daveyton-based Mofuthung Elderly and Disabled Community Project received 59 food parcels on Tuesday from NPO The Worse is Never Worst, in partnership with other organisations.

Founder Nhlanhla Ndaba said: “I do not believe that one should go to bed on an empty stomach while we are able to help.

Food delivered to Mofuthung Elderly and Disabled Community Project in Daveyton on Tuesday.

“I was introduced to the organisation by Samukeliso Tshabalala from Samukelo Esihle Organisation, who made us aware that the Mofuthung centre needed assistance.
“Therefore, we saw it fit as an organisation to help.
“We have been and continue to be involved in community-building projects, giving back to our communities and fighting poverty,” she explained.

The centre currently runs two projects, one being home-based care.
Founder of the centre Bridgette Madihlaba expressed her gratitude.
“I am overjoyed as our beneficiaries are also very happy.
“The donations will certainly make a difference in the lives of our beneficiaries as they are pensioners and most depend on social grants.
“Every little bit helps.”
