Catch the hottest local games this festive season

The tournament, which is hosted by TMS Events Management, was launched on Monday at the Tsakani Stadium.

Tsakani – The Football Festive Games will be played at Malandela Ground until December 31.

Chairperson Thuso Mtsweni said the tournament has played an important role in the lives of young soccer players.

“For the past four years, we have been instrumental in shaping the minds and character of hundreds of youth from different social, economic, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
“Using soccer as their outlet, these youths transform their energy and competitive spirit to become community role models.
“Our mission is to provide all youth in the community with the opportunity to play soccer regardless of their skill level,” he said.

Total hosts mini-soccer tournament at Khombindlela Primary

According to Mtsweni, the organisation is a development focused youth programme.
“Through this programme, youth will be taught to improve their soccer skills while learning the important values of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play.
“Our goal is not only to advance the youth’s athletic skills but to grow their overall development as a person by building lifelong skills, such as strategic thinking, discipline, logic, goal-setting and leadership, among others,” he added.

Crime stats reveal Tsakani as an area of concern

Eight u-15 and u-17 teams will be participating in the tournament.
There are cash prizes to be won, along with a brand new soccer kit.
Research indicates that youth who develop these skills early on in life thrive in school, at home and will lead a more successful life.
All participating teams are asked to adhere to Covid-19 rules and regulations by appointing their own Covid-19 health practitioner who ensures daily screening, sanitising and social distancing is carried out.
No masks, no entry.
