Kwa-Thema – A woman was burnt with an iron during a home robbery on Saturday evening.
According to Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Sgt Media Khoza, three robbers gained access to a back room on the property and demanded a cellphone and cash from the woman staying there.
The robbers were armed with a firearm, a knife and a screwdriver.

“They then asked the woman the whereabouts of a foreign national female who stays in the main house.
“They forced the victim to knock at the main house and when the occupants opened the door, all three stormed in.
“They then demanded cash from the woman they found in the house and when she told them she did not have any, they switched on an iron and burnt her with it.
“She gave them the money she had, which was in the form of rands and dollars,” she explained.

The robbers also stole the keys to a Mercedes-Benz, two laptops, a television set, cellphones and a sound system.
Khoza added that the second woman was treated at hospital for her injuries.
