Organisation gives back to old age home

“Community development and social participation is of the utmost importance to our organisation."

Tsakani – Team Bafenyi Social Club gifted their adopted charity organisation, the Tsakani Old Age Home, with new fittings for their kitchen. The organisation has deep roots in Tsakani. Chairperson of the organisation Ramatlodi Ramalope said community development is one of their principles. “Community development and social participation is of the utmost importance to our organisation. “We have established a relationship with the home since 2010 and have made meaningful contributions through cleaning, food and clothes donations.

“We have painted for them as well,” explained Ramalope. In December last year they hosted their first annual family fun day at the Tsakani Softball Stadium as part of their fund-raising event.

The organisation continues to host events to raise funds for its community development projects.

“We installed a brand new kitchen for our most vulnerable in society, the aged. Needless to say, Covid-19 has hindered our plans for the second charity family fun day,” he said. They have also repaired other wooden items such as doors as part of the refurbishment. At the moment any plans for fundraising are on hold due to lockdown regulations and restrictions.
