A car landed in a water-filled ditch on Ermelo Road last Sunday morning.
The driver of the vehicle, Giovanni D’Arrigo, said he was on his way to town when the incident occurred.
According to D’Arrigo, the ditch was caused by massive floods triggered by large amounts of rain.
He said an electric cable was being repaired at the time and workers left the ditch open, which was deepened further by the rain.

“How can they just leave the ditch open like that?
“The workers need to do their job properly or more incidents like this could happen,” said D’Arrigo, adding that his vehicle sustained minimal damage, but he will be pursuing legal action.
