Man killed after interrupting criminals

Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Sgt Media Khoza said Sithole screamed and disturbed the men and they fled on foot.

Kwa-Thema – Police are investigating a case of murder after a 33-year-old man was shot and killed in White City last Tuesday morning. The victim has been identified as Kabelo Sithole. According to a witness, Sithole was outside his home in the early hours of the morning when he allegedly noticed an unknown number of men trying to steal tyres from a car parked outside his neighbour’s house. Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Sgt Media Khoza said Sithole screamed and disturbed the men and they fled on foot.

“They returned an hour later, at about 3.30am, to finish what they had started. “The deceased once again saw them and they fired shots at him, killing him. “At about 7.30am, a passer-by noticed the body and called for help. The deceased, who sustained gunshot wounds in the upper body and head, was later identified by family,” she said. Khoza added the police condemn such acts of violence and will continue to work around the clock to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book and face the full might of the law.
