Fight ends in shooting

Springs police have opened a case of attempted murder after three men were shot at following a fight that happened in Springs Extension on Sunday evening.
According to Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora the man at whose property the altercation occurred was indoors when he heard a commotion.
When he went outside, he found his tenant and two friends fighting with three other men.

The man broke up the fight, and his tenant and the friends went into the house, while the three men with whom they had been fighting drove away in a white Ford Figo.
After approximately five minutes, while the man was standing by the gate, the three men came back in three cars, a white Ford Figo, a silver Mercedes-Benz and a silver Jeep.
One of the men got out of the car carrying a gun and asked the man where the tenant and his friends were.
Realising they were indoors, the gunman went to the tenant’s room and ordered him to open the door.

Once the door was open, the gunman fired several shots towards the victims.
One of the victims tried to fight back by charging the gunman, but he kept firing until he ran out of ammunition.
The gunman then fled with the other two companions.
The tenant and his friends were taken by ambulance to the OR Tambo Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police located five cartridges on the scene.
