Duduza police address GVB

The campaign was held in partnership with the Youth Crime Prevention Desk.

Duduza – Members of the police have taken it upon themselves to educate residents about gender-based violence (GBV).

On Thursday afternoon, they took to the streets of Duduza to hand out pamphlets to raise awareness of GBV and crime.

The campaign was held in partnership with the Youth Crime Prevention Desk. Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said the campaign was aimed at sensitising the community around Roseview and Duduza Central.

 

“It was important for us to warn residents to be more vigilant, especially along Nzimande Street because there is a growing number of crimes such as robberies, hijackings and other violent crimes being reported.

“Special attention was also paid to violence against women and children, and we emphasised to the community the importance of speaking out and reporting any incidents of GBV,” he added.
