Matric learners welcomed back to school

Grade 12 learners receive goodies as they return to class

Duduza – Matric learners from NN Ndebele Secondary School received food parcels and masks on their first day back in class after a week’s break.

School principal Billy Mashiane encouraged the learners, who returned to school last Monday, to share the food with their siblings.

“As a school, we understand many families have been affected financially during lockdown.

“The last thing we want to see is our learners going to bed on an empty stomach.

“This will affect their concentration in class and their results at the end of the year,” he said.

According to Mashiane, the donations will be made on a weekly basis.

“The food parcels included rice, soya mince, beans, instant porridge, fish, milk and veggies,” he said.

The school also distributed 130 masks they received from a local company.

“We appreciate all the help we received from external stakeholders,” added Mashiane.
