Young DJ with a big heart

Kwa-Thema ? Khumo Thabang Molapo, a young female DJ from Kwa-Thema, is celebrating Women’s Month by contributing positively to the lives of ordinary citizens.

The part-time student at the University of South Africa has started a sanitary pad drive which aims to assist young girls in Kwatsaduza.

It is one of the initiatives under her Khumo’s Charity campaign.

“The idea is still new and it’s my first campaign, but I am hoping for successful growth.

“The aim is run campaigns which are educational and promote the spirit of giving and volunteering,” said Molapo.

The goal of the sanitary pad drive is to reach different girls in need of sanitary products and also promote healthy conversations around menstruation.

The public can get involved by buying sanitary towels, from a single pack to bulk.

Donations can be dropped off at Lesedi Hair Garden on Mlambo Street, Kwa-Thema, and Ekhayeni Kitchen at 2885 Malandela Street, Tsakani.

On Friday, Khumo released her much-anticipated single, Need Your Love, which features Mapule, under Music Culture Group.

The song is also produced by Katlego, who is featured on the track.

“I started my music career professionally last year in June, but the bug bit me while I was still in school, and I’ve never looked back.

“I love music, not necessarily specific genres, but music as a whole and I am fascinated by the techniques and everything behind decks.

“Music makes me happy and it has the power to heal,” she said.

The song will be available on all digital platforms from Friday.
